Why engage with Traxis Energy?

One of the biggest challenges in business is moving products from early adopters to the mass market. Early adopters can afford to take risks whereas the mass market will not. They want a whole product – one where all aspects are proven from purchase through operation to upkeep and repair. This requires several companies to work together but in an emerging market these services are often fragmented and of too small a geographic and financial scale.

This is the case with local distributed energy.

The Traxis Energy initiative, illustrated here, is designed to address this dilemma and accelerate the transition to an established mass market.

Traxis Energy focuses on three key enablers:

  • The Traxis Group along with the help of its Advisory Council and Affiliate Group generates outline business models that are then fleshed out and developed with and by the programme members. Models will have been analysed and verified economically at a generic level. Members will work with The Traxis Group to enhance and corroborate the modelling guided by The Traxis Group who will help factor agreements between members. The result is a commercially viable proposition that can be taken to investors and customers.text goes here

  • The Traxis Group will work with each member to assess delivery capabilities using a comparative model developed by the group. This model looks specifically at the ability to scale up and will assist in identifying the strength of the whole consortium and to conduct a SWOT type of analysis on the whole group.

  • By this we mean the bringing together of both public and private sources of finance to implement sets of specific delivery projects. It is expected that these “packets” of investment will be repeatable and be refinanced in 4-5 years. As such, funders are investing in numbers of repeatable projects rather than in companies.

The advantage of local DE is that it lends itself to a series of local interventions such as a new build development or a major renovation project. Each Traxis Energy Delivery Programme is a facilitated series of actions focused on creating these commercially viable developments.
